DME control unit, remove and installOpen glove compartment Remove pins from straps and lower glove compartment to floor Remove upper trim from glove compartment, early styles require removal of two screws from forward edge of panel and two 1/4 turn clips in the rear. Later cars have a soft vinyl cover that must be pulled off the rear edge of the glove compartment and tucked out of the way. The forward edge of this soft trim is riveted to the dash and should not be removed. Unplug DME by pulling the chrome locking tab on the connector until it releases the connector, then pull the connector to about a 45° angle and lift it off the DME Remove mounting screws or bolts and remove control unit. |
